Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Akamai Administrator to manage and optimize our use of Akamai’s web performance, security, and CDN solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Akamai configuration and troubleshooting, along with a deep understanding of web infrastructure, application delivery, and content caching strategies. This role is critical in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of web applications, and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Security, and Application Development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and manage Akamai products such as Ion, Kona Site Defender, Bot Manager, and Edge DNS.

• Design and implement caching rules, content delivery strategies, and performance optimization using Akamai Control Center and Property Manager.

• Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot Akamai configurations.

• Analyze traffic patterns and performance metrics to recommend optimizations.

• Set up and manage Web Application Firewall (WAF) and DDoS protection policies.

• Implement and maintain SSL/TLS certificates and security headers through Akamai.

• Ensure availability and uptime of websites and APIs through intelligent routing and failover mechanisms.

• Troubleshoot content delivery issues, caching problems, and access restrictions.

• Coordinate with Akamai support and customer success teams for escalations and enhancements.

• Maintain documentation of configurations, deployments, and procedures.

Professional Skills:

• Proven experience in administering and configuring Akamai solutions.

• Strong knowledge of CDN, DNS, and edge delivery technologies.

• Experience with Akamai Control Center, Property Manager, API integration, and Akamai CLI.

• Familiarity with security solutions including Kona Site Defender, Bot Manager, and WAF.

• Experience with web protocols (HTTP, HTTPS), security headers, TLS/SSL, and firewall policies.

• Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell) for automation is a plus.

• Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is beneficial.

• Knowledge of log analysis tools (Splunk, ELK Stack, Akamai mPulse, etc.)
