Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Engineer to lead and support the design, integration, and validation of conventional and electrified powertrain systems. This role involves working across mechanical, electrical, and software domains to ensure robust and high-performance propulsion systems aligned with regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Lead system-level design, integration, and validation of ICE, hybrid, or electric powertrains.
-
Define and manage system requirements, functional interfaces, and performance targets.
-
Support architecture development and selection of powertrain components: engine, transmission, e-motor, inverter, battery pack, and power electronics.
-
Ensure system compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., emissions, OBD, safety) and internal specifications.
-
Work closely with calibration, controls, thermal management, and diagnostics teams.
-
Perform system-level analysis and trade studies to optimize performance, efficiency, and cost.
-
Support failure mode analysis (DFMEA, FTA), hazard analysis, and functional safety assessments (ISO 26262 if applicable).
-
Coordinate testing and validation activities (HiL, SiL, bench, dyno, and vehicle-level).
-
Use simulation tools (e.g., GT-Power, MATLAB/Simulink, AVL Cruise) for performance prediction and analysis.
-
Document engineering deliverables and participate in design reviews.
Professional Skills:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering.
-
3–10 years of experience in powertrain systems engineering or propulsion development.
-
Solid understanding of powertrain components: engine, transmission, inverter, motor, driveline, and controls.
-
Experience in systems engineering principles (requirements, validation, traceability, V-model).
-
Proficiency with tools like MATLAB/Simulink, CANalyzer/CANape, INCA, GT-SUITE, or equivalent.
-
Familiarity with diagnostics, thermal systems, and vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, FlexRay).
-
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
