Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled SDO Safety Designer to join our functional safety team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing safety concepts in compliance with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262. You will play a key role in ensuring system safety across the full development lifecycle of automotive electronic systems or other safety-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain Safety Concept Designs in accordance with ISO 26262 (or relevant safety standards).

Analyze safety requirements (HARA, FMEA, FTA) and derive system-level safety goals and technical safety requirements.

Collaborate with system, hardware, and software engineering teams to integrate safety design into product architecture.

Define and document safety architecture, safety mechanisms, and safety requirements.

Ensure safety measures are implemented, verified, and validated throughout the V-model lifecycle.

Perform safety analyses including FMEDA, DFA, and DRBFM.

Support safety audits and assessments with internal teams and external assessors (e.g., TÜV, UL).

Lead or support safety reviews, DFMEA/FTA sessions, and safety case development.

Ensure traceability of safety requirements using tools like DOORS, Polarion, or Medini Analyze.

Provide technical input on safety culture and process improvements.
Professional Skills:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.

3–8 years of experience in functional safety engineering or SDO design roles.

Strong understanding of ISO 26262 lifecycle phases, safety concepts, and safety engineering.

Hands-on experience with safety analysis techniques like FMEA, FTA, FMEDA.

Proficiency with tools such as Medini Analyze, Ansys, DOORS, PTC Integrity, or Polarion.

Good knowledge of embedded systems, hardware/software interfaces, and safety mechanisms.

Experience working in an ASPICE or V-model development process is a plus.

Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
