Job Summary:
The SAP Practice and Delivery Manager will be a critical leader responsible for the growth, development, and operational excellence of our SAP practice and the successful delivery of SAP projects and managed services for our clients. This role demands a seasoned SAP professional with a strong blend of technical expertise, project/program management prowess, people leadership, and business development acumen. The Manager will drive strategic initiatives, ensure client satisfaction, foster team growth, and maintain high-quality delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities:
I. Practice Management (Strategic & Growth):
- Practice Strategy & Vision:
- Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the SAP practice, aligning it with the company’s overall business objectives and market trends.
- Identify new service offerings, solutions, and accelerators within the SAP ecosystem (e.g., S/4HANA, BTP, Cloud ERP, Industry Cloud, specific modules like FICO, SD, MM, PP, HCM, etc.).
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscapes, and SAP’s product roadmap to ensure the practice remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Business Development & Presales:
- Actively support presales activities, including leading client presentations, solutioning, effort estimation, and proposal development for new SAP opportunities.
- Build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective clients, acting as a trusted advisor to understand their business challenges and propose relevant SAP solutions.
- Collaborate with sales and account management teams to identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing accounts.
- Competency Development & Talent Management:
- Lead the recruitment, retention, and professional development of SAP consultants within the practice.
- Define training programs, certification paths (e.g., S/4HANA certifications), and knowledge-sharing initiatives to ensure the team possesses cutting-edge skills.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide mentorship, and foster a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Manage resource allocation and utilization across projects.
- Thought Leadership & Brand Building:
- Contribute to the firm’s thought leadership through whitepapers, presentations, webinars, and participation in industry events.
- Enhance the company’s reputation as a leading SAP implementation and service provider.
II. Delivery Management (Operational & Execution):
- Project/Program Oversight:
- Provide senior oversight for multiple SAP implementation, upgrade, migration, and support projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Establish and enforce project governance structures, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid), and quality assurance processes.
- Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, resolve complex issues, and manage escalations effectively.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as a primary escalation point for clients regarding project delivery, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Maintain open and transparent communication with clients, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
- Offshore/Onsite Coordination:
- Effectively manage projects and teams in a global delivery model, collaborating seamlessly with onsite client teams and offshore delivery centers.
Required Skills

- Typically 12-18+ years of extensive experience in SAP consulting, implementation, and project/program management.
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role managing an SAP practice or significant delivery portfolio.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale SAP projects (full lifecycle implementations, S/4HANA transformations).
- Demonstrated experience in presales, solutioning, and client engagement for SAP services.
- Deep SAP Expertise:
- Comprehensive understanding of the SAP product suite, including ECC, S/4HANA (deep knowledge of at least one functional area like FICO, SD, MM, PP, QM, EWM, PM, HCM, CRM or technical areas like ABAP, Basis, PI/PO, BTP).
- Strong knowledge of SAP integration technologies and methodologies.
- Awareness of industry-specific SAP solutions is a significant plus.
- Project & Program Management:
- Expertise in various project methodologies (Waterfall, Agile Scrum, SAFe).
- Strong command of project planning, scheduling, risk management, scope management, and change management.
- PMP, Prince2, or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
- Leadership & People Management:
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate large, diverse teams of SAP consultants (functional, technical, project managers).
- Strong delegation, coaching, and performance management skills.
- Ability to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Business Acumen & Commercial Savvy:
- Strong understanding of business processes and how SAP solutions can drive business value.
- Experience with financial management of projects and practice profitability.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities and develop actionable plans.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex technical and business concepts clearly to executive-level clients and internal stakeholders.
