Job Description:

As a Microsoft Power BI Developer, you will play a key part in transforming complex data sets into actionable business intelligence using tools like Power BI, Azure Databricks, and dbt. This position requires strong expertise in developing data models, dashboards, and reports that empower stakeholders to make data-driven decisions. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in the reinsurance industry and hands-on experience with Azure Data Services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and understand reporting requirements.

• Design and develop interactive dashboards and analytical reports using Power BI.

• Leverage Databricks and dbt to create gold layer datasets for reporting.

• Develop data models and transformations using Power Query (M Language) and DAX.

• Optimize Power BI reports for usability and performance.

• Implement row-level security, license configuration, and report sharing across various user groups.

• Build and manage tabular models, KPIs, and calculated measures using Azure Analysis Services.

• Create and schedule data pipelines/notebooks within Azure Databricks using medallion architecture.

• Maintain documentation of report specifications, source data, and dashboard architecture.

• Ensure high data quality by applying data validation, cleansing, and integrity checks.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI dashboards and underlying data sources.

Professional Skills:

• Knowledge of the reinsurance industry

• Experience with other BI tools like Tableau, IBM Cognos, or QlikView

• Microsoft certification in Power BI or related technologies

• Solid understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure and data warehousing
