Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mainframe Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS, and will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications to support business-critical systems.
Key responsibilities:

Hands-on experience in coding, testing, and debugging programs written in COBOL, CICS, and DB2.

Develop and maintain mainframe applications to support business processes and ensure system integrity.

Analyse and interpret business requirements to design technical solutions.

Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and provide ongoing system support.

Optimize existing code for performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Create and maintain technical documentation related to system design, development, and support processes.

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including QA, business analysts, and project managers.

Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to development standards and best practices.

Understand and apply change management processes in a mainframe environment.
Professional Skills:
-
Experience with IDMS/DC to CICS Conversion
-
Experience with IDMS to DB2 Conversion and database conversions is desired and helpful.

Current hands-on experience in coding, testing and debugging programs written in COBOL/CICS/DB2

Experience with IBM OS/JCL (MVS) and IBM/DB2

Experience with CICS

Experience in conversions for IDMS/DC to CICS, IDMS to DB2 desired

Experience in Usability Testing (participate with the users in the system testing of programs)

Experience in APPC/LU 6.2 or MQ Programming in Cobol-CICS.

Experience in coding complex DB2 Stored Procedures

8 years of Hands-on experience with COBOL/CICS/DB2 Coding, testing & Debugging.

Experience with IBM/DB2 and experience with Stored Procedures

8 years of experience with IBM OS/JCL (MVS) and experience with CICS
-
Experience of extracting business logic from programs and documenting business rules and experience in Usability Testing (participate with the users in the system testing of their programs)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external groups
-
4-year college degree or equivalent technical study.
